Bakery Delivery to Business Bay: Ordering for the Office

How to order for a Business Bay office from our Silicon Oasis kitchen, from the company box at checkout to what will still be right on the meeting table at eleven.

A focaccia smoked turkey sandwich, a sliced marble cake loaf and a granola parfait cup side by side on a plain cream background

Farah has no shop, counter or kitchen in Business Bay. We bake in one kitchen, in Nadd Hessa, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and deliver from there to Business Bay offices and flats exactly as we do to the rest of Dubai. Everything is baked to order for the day it is due, and the earliest delivery is tomorrow morning.

Business Bay is a district of high-rise office and residential towers beside Downtown Dubai, so this page starts with the office order. It is for whoever has been asked to sort out the food for a team; there is a shorter section for flats further down.

The office order in five steps

  1. Order the day before at the latest. Nothing is delivered on the day it is ordered.
  2. Tick "Delivering to a company / business?" at checkout and type the company name into the field that appears.
  3. Put the floor and office number in the "Apartment, floor" line, then drop the map pin on the entrance a driver should use. The order will not go through without a pin.
  4. Choose the tomorrow 7–10 am window for a morning meeting, or whichever window ends before your team needs the food.
  5. Name the person receiving it in the notes for the baker, then pay through PayPal.

Guest checkout works, so nobody has to open an account on the company's behalf.

Why the order goes in the day before

Every order is baked for the day it is due, and there is no same-day delivery. Checkout offers four windows: tomorrow 7–10 am, tomorrow 3–6 pm, the day after tomorrow 7–10 am, and next Saturday 9 am–12 pm. Checkout sets no cut-off time; the earliest it will ever offer is tomorrow morning.

A meeting two days out can take the day-after-tomorrow window, which leaves a day to collect allergies and a firm headcount. A weekday meeting three or more days away cannot be booked yet, because checkout only offers the next two days and the coming Saturday.

Matching the 7–10 am window to a morning meeting

A window is three hours long, not a delivery time, so plan the morning around its later end.

  • A meeting at 10 or later suits the morning window as it is.
  • A meeting at 8 or 9 may start before the delivery does. Treat the food as a mid-morning break, and order things that are happy to wait on the table.
  • A client breakfast that has to be out when people walk in is better handled through our events form, described further down.

The pin and the person receiving it

Before you order, ask your building whether reception or the goods entrance accepts deliveries at the start of the morning window. If your tower has a separate delivery entrance, pin that rather than the main lobby. The phone number at checkout is for delivery updates, so use the number of whoever will be in the office when the window starts.

Someone must be there to receive fresh food. Our delivery page is clear that we cannot replace fresh items left uncollected or unrefrigerated, and a bag left at an unattended desk until lunchtime is exactly that. Put the receiver's name in the notes for the baker. If a delivery is late, damaged or missing items on our side, the same page explains how to tell us.

What waits on a meeting table, and what goes out first

People eat at a meeting one-handed, often a while after the food arrives, so the useful question is what is still right at eleven. The photograph above shows the split: the parfait and the focaccia turkey sandwich belong in the fridge, while the marble cake loaf can wait on the table.

The things that wait. These are sold to be kept out of the fridge. Keep them covered and they will see out a morning.

  • Cookies. Each is a single 80 g piece that needs no knife or plate. The six cookies in our cookies and bars collection run from 14 to 18 AED. Keep them in their box or an airtight container rather than open on the table; our cookie guide has the detail.
  • Cake loaves. Each cake loaf is 35 AED, a butter cake with no cream or custard, so it needs no fridge. Slice it as people take it, because a loaf dries from every cut face. The Marble Cake Loaf suits a team whose tastes you do not know, as our marble cake guide explains.
  • Focaccia. A Focaccia · Rosemary & Olive Oil at 12 AED, cut into fingers, covers the savoury side. The olive oil keeps it supple in the box, though it is still best on the day. It leaves oil on the fingers, so keep it away from laptops. The focaccia collection has two more versions at the same price.

The things that go out first, or into the fridge.

  • Croissants. Also kept out of the fridge, but over a morning a croissant changes in texture, and it sheds flakes. Put the pastry plate out as soon as it arrives, on a side table.
  • Sandwiches. Every one of our sandwiches has meat or cheese in it, so they go into the office fridge on arrival and come out ten to fifteen minutes before people eat. Standard food-safety guidance is no more than two hours out of the fridge in total. The Ciabatta Turkey & Cheese Sandwich at 12 AED and the Focaccia Smoked Turkey Sandwich at 17 AED hold until lunch if kept cold; the white bread and brioche ones are for eating soon, as our guide to sandwich breads explains.
  • Parfaits. The Granola Parfait with Greek Yogurt at 25 AED stays in the fridge until about five minutes before it is eaten: the yoghurt is perishable, and warmth speeds up the granola softening.

We do not sell drinks, so arrange coffee and tea separately. Our office breakfast catering guide covers headcounts and labelling.

How the 150 AED threshold works for an office bag

Delivery is a flat 20 AED, and free when the merchandise in the bag comes to 150 AED or more, the same in Business Bay as anywhere else in the city. Three details matter for an office.

It is counted before any discount code. A 160 AED bag with a 20 AED code still ships free.

There is no minimum order. A single cake loaf for the pantry is a perfectly good order; it simply carries the fee.

One bag beats two. Two orders of 90 AED each pay 20 AED twice; one order of 180 AED pays nothing. If several people on the floor are ordering for the same morning, combine them.

At today's prices:

  • A morning meeting for eight. Four Ciabatta Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches (48 AED), four Focaccia Smoked Turkey Sandwiches (68 AED) and a Marble Cake Loaf (35 AED) come to 151 AED, so delivery is free.
  • Something sweet for the floor. One of each of the six cookies comes to 96 AED. Add a cake loaf and the bag is 131 AED, so with the fee you pay 151 AED. A second loaf takes the bag to 166 AED with free delivery: 15 AED more, for a whole extra loaf.

So when you are just short of 150 AED, top up with something that waits, a cookie or a cake loaf, rather than another sandwich that must be eaten by lunch. Prices can change, so check the bag, which shows how far you are from free delivery.

Paying. Payment is on PayPal's page, where any credit or debit card works, a company card included, usually without a PayPal account. Prices are shown in AED and settled in US dollars, worth knowing for the expense claim. A confirmation email follows the order.

Allergies come before the menu

Collect allergies from the team before you order, not on the morning. Our kitchen handles wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame and seeds, and we cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of them. Several descriptions name nuts, among them the almond and pistachio croissants, the peanut butter and pistachio cookies and the banana and pecan loaf, but that does not make the other items safe for a nut allergy. If anyone attending has an allergy or intolerance, ask us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve them safely.

Ordering to a Business Bay flat

The same checkout serves Business Bay's residential towers. Leave the company box unticked, put the flat number in the "Apartment, floor" line and pin the lobby entrance. Someone still needs to be in to take the order.

At home, tomorrow's 3–6 pm window suits bread for dinner, and next Saturday 9 am–12 pm suits a weekend breakfast. Our guide to fresh bread delivery in Dubai sets out which loaves to eat first, and our guide to storing bread in Dubai covers keeping them.

Collection is not an option at checkout. Collecting from our kitchen in Nadd Hessa can be arranged over WhatsApp, as the delivery page explains, and our Silicon Oasis page says more about the kitchen.

A client breakfast, an offsite or a whole floor

For these, or when the food has to be out before a delivery window allows, use the Bring Farah to your event form instead of the shop. Give the date, the number of guests, the venue and floor, and when people arrive, and we will tell you what we can do. We reply within one working day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Farah Bakery shop or counter in Business Bay?

No. We have one kitchen, in Nadd Hessa, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and everything we sell is baked there to order, then delivered to Business Bay as it is to anywhere else in Dubai. Collection from the kitchen can be arranged over WhatsApp, but there is no pickup option at checkout.

Several of us on the same floor want food for the same morning. Should we place one order?

Yes, if it is going to one office in one window. Below 150 AED each order pays the 20 AED fee, so two 90 AED orders pay it twice, while one 180 AED order is delivered free. One person orders and names who receives it.

Does delivery to Business Bay cost more than to other parts of Dubai?

No. The fee is a flat 20 AED wherever you are in the city, and delivery is free once the merchandise in your bag reaches 150 AED, counted before any discount code. The four windows are the same everywhere too, so no area gets earlier slots or a lower fee.

How do we put the company name on the order and pay with a company card?

Tick "Delivering to a company / business?" at checkout and a company-name field appears. Payment is taken on PayPal's page, where any credit or debit card works, usually without a PayPal account, and prices shown in AED are settled in US dollars.

What should we order if the food will sit out through a long meeting?

Choose things sold to be kept out of the fridge: cookies, a cake loaf sliced as people take it, and focaccia cut into fingers, all kept covered. Sandwiches and parfaits belong in the office fridge until shortly before they are eaten, and the croissants should go out first.
