Bakery Delivery to Dubai Marina from Silicon Oasis: A Brunch Table

How to build a Saturday brunch table in Dubai Marina from our sourdough, focaccia and croissants, baked to order in our one kitchen in Dubai Silicon Oasis and delivered to your door.

Farah has no shop in Dubai Marina. We are one bakery kitchen in Nadd Hessa, Dubai Silicon Oasis, across the city from the Marina, and everything we sell is baked to order there and delivered to your door. This page covers one job we do for Marina homes: the bread and pastry for a late breakfast or brunch you are hosting at the weekend.

In brief: choose the next-Saturday window at checkout. Build the table from three things: a sourdough loaf to slice, focaccia to warm and cut, and croissants. The table for six below comes to 151 AED, just past the 150 AED at which delivery becomes free.

How a Saturday order reaches Dubai Marina

Checkout offers four fixed delivery windows: tomorrow 7–10 am, tomorrow 3–6 pm, the day after tomorrow 7–10 am, and next Saturday 9 am–12 pm. There is no same-day delivery, so the earliest anything can reach you is tomorrow morning. Every order is baked for the day it is due, so a Saturday order is baked for that Saturday.

The Saturday window is the one made for a weekend table. It always means the next Saturday after the day you order: order on any day from Sunday to Friday and it is the coming Saturday; order on a Saturday and the window offered is the following Saturday, a week away. Checkout preselects the earliest window, tomorrow morning, so select the Saturday one yourself before you pay.

Depending on when you order, other windows can land on a Saturday too. Order on a Thursday and the day-after-tomorrow window is Saturday, 7–10 am. Order on a Friday and both of tomorrow's windows fall on Saturday. The early window suits a breakfast; the 9 am–12 pm window suits a brunch.

Each window is three hours long, so set the time for guests after it ends rather than inside it. For the Saturday window that means a table from about half past twelve, a natural hour for a late brunch anyway.

Dubai Marina gets exactly the same windows and the same fee as every other part of the city, including the streets around our kitchen: 20 AED on a bag under 150 AED, and free from 150 AED. Our guide to fresh bread delivery in Dubai walks through checkout step by step, and our delivery page covers the rest.

Receiving an order in a Marina tower

Dubai Marina is a waterfront district of high-rise towers set around a man-made marina, and most homes here are apartments, so an order reaches you through a lobby rather than a garden gate. Three things at checkout make that go smoothly.

  • The map pin. Checkout will not take an order without one. Drop it on the entrance a driver should use, rather than on the middle of the building.
  • The address. Put the building name in the address line and your flat and floor in the apartment field.
  • Someone to take it in. Fresh food needs a person to receive it, and we cannot replace items left uncollected or unrefrigerated. On a hosting morning that is usually easy, because you are at home setting the table. If you will be out, leave someone behind.

Payment is through PayPal, with a PayPal balance or a credit or debit card; a card works without a PayPal account, and you do not need an account with us either. Prices are shown in AED and settled in US dollars.

Three breads, three jobs

A weekend table works when each bread does something different. We would build it from these three groups and stop there. We do not sell drinks, so the coffee and juice are yours, and so are the butter, eggs, cheese and fruit.

Sourdough, for slicing

Our Country Sourdough Loaf at 25 AED is the anchor. It is slow-fermented for over 24 hours for a caramelised crust, and plain enough to go with everything else on the table. For a second loaf with more character, the Sourdough Cheese Loaf at 28 AED brings a savoury finish. The rest of the range is in our sourdough collection.

Focaccia, for warming and tearing

We make three, each at 12 AED and each with extra virgin olive oil: Rosemary & Olive Oil, Cherry Tomato and Mushroom. Focaccia is the most forgiving bread on a shared table. The oil through the crumb slows staling, so it stays soft through a long, slow meal, and cut into fingers it holds its shape where a torn baguette would not; our grazing table guide explains why. Our guide to how the three focaccias differ goes further, and all three are in the focaccia collection.

Croissants, for the sweet end

A plain Croissant at 14 AED and a Chocolate Croissant at 16 AED cover most guests. If some of your guests like nuts, there is the Almond Cream Croissant at 18 AED, topped with toasted almonds, and the Pistachio Croissant at 19 AED, filled with pistachio paste. Give those two a plate of their own so guests can see which pastries carry nuts, but treat that as labelling, not allergen control (see the allergen note below). All five croissants are in the croissant collection, and our croissant guide explains what to look for when you tear one open.

How much to order for a group

Appetites vary, but these are the starting points we would use, assuming there is also fruit, eggs or cheese on the table:

  • Croissants: one per guest, which leaves room for the bread.
  • Sourdough: one loaf for up to six people when it is one of several things on the table, and a second loaf beyond that.
  • Focaccia: one for every two guests, in a mix of flavours.

Here is a table for six:

  • 1 Country Sourdough Loaf: 25 AED
  • 3 focaccias, one of each flavour: 36 AED
  • 3 Croissants: 42 AED
  • 3 Chocolate Croissants: 48 AED

That comes to 151 AED, which clears the 150 AED mark, so delivery is free without adding anything to the bag for the sake of it. For eight, add a Sourdough Cheese Loaf, a second rosemary focaccia and two more plain croissants, for 219 AED.

A table for four is where the maths changes. One country loaf, the rosemary and cherry tomato focaccias, two croissants and two chocolate croissants come to 109 AED, plus the 20 AED fee. You would be 41 AED short of free delivery, more than the fee itself, so do not pad the bag to reach it. The exception is bread you would buy this week anyway: a loaf for weekday toast in the same bag costs less than a second order with its own 20 AED fee. Slice and freeze it on the day it arrives.

The 150 AED is counted on the bag before any discount code, and both the bag and checkout show how far you are from it. Prices can change, so check the total before you pay.

What to warm, and what to serve as it comes

Unpack everything as soon as it arrives. Inside a bag or box, moisture from the crumb softens the crust. Then sort it.

Serve the sourdough at room temperature. A loaf that arrives cool has finished setting inside and is ready to slice. Stand it on a board and slice it just before guests sit down, because a cut face dries out in the air conditioning. If the crust has softened in the bag, five minutes in a 180°C oven crisps it again.

Warm the focaccia. On the day it is baked it needs nothing, but warm is how to eat it first. Sprinkle a few drops of water on top, give it four to six minutes at about 200°C, and cut it into fingers once it is out. What is left stays soft at room temperature for the rest of the meal.

Warm the croissants briefly, if at all. They are baked for the day they are due, but humid air can soften a crisp shell within an hour or two, and a few minutes at 160 to 170°C brings it back. Give the chocolate croissants their own treatment — three minutes at 150°C, then ten minutes undisturbed so the shell firms again — because reheating melts the coating. Until then, keep croissants in a paper bag, never in sealed plastic.

Sequence the oven. One home oven can do it all: croissants first at 160 to 170°C, then turn it up to 200°C for the focaccia, since an oven heats up far sooner than it cools down. Start once the first guests are through the door.

Keep bread out of the fridge. Bread stales faster at fridge temperature than on the counter. The fridge is for the butter, cheese, yoghurt and cut fruit.

After the table

A late brunch rarely finishes the sourdough. Keep it cut side down on a board. That afternoon, slice and freeze whatever you will not eat in the next few days, then toast the slices straight from frozen. Wrap and freeze spare plain or almond croissants the same day and revive them from frozen at 160 to 170°C; the chocolate ones are better eaten on the day. Wrap leftover focaccia tightly and freeze it flat. Our guide to storing bread in Dubai has the timings for each.

Our kitchen handles wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame and seeds, and we cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of them, even where a recipe does not include them. If a guest has a food allergy or intolerance, ask us before you order, and please do not rely on a product description alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Farah Bakery shop in Dubai Marina?

No. Farah has one kitchen, in Nadd Hessa, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and no shop, branch or counter in Dubai Marina. You order online, we bake your order for its delivery day, and it is brought to your door. Collection from the kitchen is possible only by arrangement over WhatsApp.

Does delivery to Dubai Marina cost more because it is further from Silicon Oasis?

No. The fee is the same anywhere in the city: 20 AED on a bag under 150 AED, and free from 150 AED, counted before any discount code. Dubai Marina also gets the same four delivery windows as every other area we deliver to.

Can I order on Saturday morning for a brunch that same day?

No. There is no same-day delivery, and the earliest window is always tomorrow morning. For a Saturday table, order on any day from Sunday to Friday and choose the next-Saturday window, from 9 am to 12 pm. On a Saturday, the Saturday window offered is the following week's.

What happens if nobody is home when the order reaches my tower?

Plan for someone to be there. Bread and pastries are fresh food, and we cannot replace items left uncollected or unrefrigerated. Put your building name and flat number in the address, drop the map pin on the entrance a driver should use, and keep the window free.

How much should I order for a brunch for six people?

Our starting point is one croissant per guest, one sourdough loaf, and one focaccia for every two guests. A Country Sourdough Loaf, one of each focaccia, three plain croissants and three chocolate croissants come to 151 AED, which also makes delivery free.
