Small Event Catering in Dubai: Food That Waits for Your Guests

A birthday at home, a baby shower or a book club can be fed from our online shop, as long as the food can wait and the delivery lands before your guests do.

For small event catering in Dubai, order from our online shop by the day before, pick the delivery window that ends before your first guest arrives, and build the table from bakes that wait at room temperature: focaccia at 12 AED, cookies from 14 to 18 AED, croissants from 14 to 19 AED and cake loaves at 35 AED. Checkout offers four windows, each three hours long: tomorrow 7–10 am, tomorrow 3–6 pm, the day after tomorrow 7–10 am, and next Saturday 9 am–12 pm. Delivery is free once the bag reaches 150 AED, and a flat 20 AED below that, with no minimum order.

We bake everything to order in our kitchen in Dubai Silicon Oasis. This guide is for the host who receives the order and lays it out: a birthday at home, a team celebration, a baby shower, a book club or an open day.

What food works for a small event without a caterer?

Bakes that wait at room temperature: focaccia, cake loaves, cookies, croissants and soft pretzels. None of them belongs in the fridge, where bread and cake stale faster than on the counter.

  • Focaccia, 12 AED. Cherry Tomato, Mushroom or Rosemary & Olive Oil. The olive oil through the crumb means it holds better than a lean loaf. Keep it in paper or under a cloth; our focaccia guide compares the three.
  • Cake loaves, 35 AED. The Marble Cake Loaf suits a mixed table where tastes are unknown; the Double Chocolate & Coconut is the one when the cake is the point. There is no decorated or personalised cake in our shop: the four in our cakes collection are loaves for slicing.
  • Cookies, 14 to 18 AED. Each of the six cookies in our cookies and bars collection is a single 80 g piece that needs no knife or plate. Keep them airtight until you set them out.
  • Croissants, 14 to 19 AED. Keep them in a paper bag, not a sealed box, and serve them the day they arrive. The Chocolate Croissant, 16 AED, holds up best over a few hours, because the chocolate is outside and there is no wet topping.
  • Soft pretzels, 8 AED. An Authentic Soft Pretzel is at its peak for about four hours; keep it in paper.

Which event food needs the fridge?

Sandwiches and the granola parfait. Every sandwich we make has meat or cheese in it, so it goes into the fridge on arrival and comes out ten to fifteen minutes before people eat; the parfait comes out about five minutes before.

  • Sandwiches that wait. The Ciabatta Turkey & Cheese Sandwich, 12 AED, and the Focaccia Smoked Turkey Sandwich, 17 AED, hold until lunch if kept cold. Leave them whole until served, because cutting early only exposes more crumb.
  • Sandwiches to eat soon. The white bread and brioche ones, 12 AED each, soften noticeably over an afternoon, even chilled.
  • The Granola Parfait with Greek Yogurt, 25 AED. One portion in its own cup, to eat soon, since the granola takes up moisture from the moment the cup is built.

Standard food-safety guidance is no more than two hours out of the fridge in total, or one hour above 32°C. Throw away whatever has sat out past that limit. Our office lunch guide has more on sandwiches, and our meeting catering guide covers food for a meeting table.

How much event food should you order per guest?

Count confirmed guests, order one portioned item for each, then add shared bakes. Sandwiches, croissants, cookies and parfaits are portioned; focaccia and cake loaves are shared, and they absorb a late arrival or an absence, while a missing croissant is obvious.

Worked orders at today's prices:

  • A book club for 10, early evening: two Focaccia · Cherry Tomato and two Focaccia · Mushroom (48 AED), five Lotus & White Chocolate Chip Cookies (80 AED) and five Chocolate Crinkle Cookies (70 AED) come to 198 AED, so delivery is free.
  • A baby shower brunch for 16: eight Croissants (112 AED), eight Chocolate Croissants (128 AED), a Classic Lemon Butter Cake Loaf (35 AED) and three Focaccia · Rosemary & Olive Oil (36 AED) come to 311 AED.
  • A team celebration for 24, early afternoon: twelve Chocolate Croissants (192 AED), twelve Oats & Cranberry Cookies (192 AED) and two Marble Cake Loaves (70 AED) come to 454 AED.

Two 90 AED orders pay the fee twice while one 180 AED order pays nothing, so put everything for one gathering into one order to one address.

Which delivery window should you choose for an event?

The window that ends before your first guest arrives: 7–10 am on the day for a gathering that starts after 10 am, and tomorrow's 3–6 pm window, ordered the day before, for one that starts after 6 pm.

There is no same-day delivery, and every order is baked for the day it is due. The afternoon window is only offered for tomorrow, so for an evening further ahead, order the day before, or take a morning window and use room-temperature bakes. Next Saturday's 9 am–12 pm window suits a Saturday gathering that starts after midday. The earliest window is preselected, so check which is ticked before you pay. We cannot promise delivery on the public holiday days themselves.

Delivery the afternoon before a morning gathering suits cake loaves and cookies (the lemon loaf is better on day two), not croissants or sandwiches.

In Abu Dhabi, the earliest delivery is two days after ordering, between 2 and 8 pm.

Someone must be there to receive the order, since we cannot replace fresh items left uncollected or unrefrigerated. Payment is on PayPal's page, where a credit or debit card works, usually without a PayPal account; prices are shown in AED and settled in US dollars. Collection from our kitchen is by arrangement only, over WhatsApp first; see our delivery page.

How do you lay out event food without staff?

Put cold items straight into the fridge on arrival, then set the table in the order people eat, cold items last.

  1. Bakes first. Focaccia in fingers; croissants whole, torn rather than cut, because a knife compresses the crumb. Cookies can wait in their box for a midway top-up.
  2. Warm the focaccia for five or six minutes in a hot oven, never a microwave.
  3. Slice cake as people take it, with cling film pressed against any cut face that has to wait.
  4. Cold items last. Sandwiches out ten to fifteen minutes before eating, halved as you serve; parfaits about five minutes before.
  5. Hold some back. A table topped up midway looks fuller at the end than one set out all at once; our grazing table guide shows how to build height so gaps do not show.
  6. Label every plate with the item's name and, for sandwiches, the meat, plus the kitchen statement below rather than copied allergen lists.

For an open day, put food out in rounds and favour things eaten standing up: cookies, pretzels and focaccia fingers. For food around a class, see our wellness event catering guide.

What about allergies and guests who do not eat meat?

Our kitchen handles wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame and seeds, and we cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of these. If anyone has an allergy or intolerance, tell us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can serve them safely.

The Almond Cream Croissant, Pistachio Croissant, Pistachio Chocolate Chip Cookie, Peanut Butter Cookie, Banana & Pecan Cake Loaf, Granola Bar and the Date, Walnut & Honey Sourdough name nuts or peanuts in their descriptions, so give them their own plate and tongs. A nut plate does not make the other plates safe for a nut allergy, and our descriptions are not full ingredient lists.

Every sandwich in our shop contains meat: chicken, turkey or ham, and nothing in our shop is labelled vegetarian or vegan. If some guests do not eat meat, ask us first and make the rest of the table generous.

When is event catering in Dubai better booked through our events form?

When the food has to be on the table before a delivery window allows, or you want it set up rather than unpacking it yourself. The Bring Farah to your event section of our events page lists private gatherings among its occasions and describes the food as baked that morning, delivered and set up.

Give the date, guest numbers, venue, arrival time and any allergies. We reply within one working day and will tell you what is possible for your date. There is no package list or per-person price, and we do not publish a fixed notice period, so enquire early. When the food is the centrepiece, see grazing tables and event catering.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead should I order food for a small event in Dubai?

By the day before at the latest, because there is no same-day delivery and everything is baked to order. For a gathering that starts after 10 am, choose the 7–10 am window on the day; for one that starts after 6 pm, order exactly one day ahead for tomorrow's 3–6 pm window.

Which party food can sit out at room temperature?

From our shop, focaccia, croissants, cookies, cake loaves and soft pretzels wait at room temperature and should not go in the fridge. Our sandwiches and the granola parfait go into the fridge on arrival and come out shortly before guests eat.

How much does catering for a small event cost from Farah Bakery?

From our shop it is the sum of the item prices, plus 20 AED delivery below 150 AED. A book club for 10 with four focaccia at 12 AED, five Lotus & White Chocolate Chip Cookies at 16 AED and five Chocolate Crinkle Cookies at 14 AED comes to 198 AED, with free delivery. Events booked through our form are quoted separately, with no published packages.

Can Farah Bakery set up the food at my party?

A shop order is delivered for you to receive and lay out yourself. To have the food set up, use the Bring Farah to your event form on our events page; we reply within one working day and will tell you what is possible for your date and guest numbers.

What if some of my guests have allergies?

Tell us before you order. Our kitchen handles wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, peanuts, soy, sesame and seeds, and we cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of these. We will tell you honestly whether we can serve that guest safely.
